The Choirs are operated by the Elk Island Regional Honor Choirs Association and offer two auditioned choirs for students residing in the Strathcona County and surrounding areas. Choristers range in ages from 6 to 19.
The choirs exist to enrich the musical experience of gifted amateur singers and are funded in part by membership fees, fundraising, business sponsorships and grants. Choirs practice weekly, with two concerts annually. In addition, the Secondary choir tours within Canada and the Junior choir performs at local schools. All of the choirs participate in additional events such as performing at music festivals, the Festival of Trees, at nursing homes, churches, sporting and other public events. A music retreat is planned annually.
