Leesila Dawkins has directed the Junior Honour Choir since 2009. Leesila has her B. Ed. specializing in Elementary Music (Orff and Kodaly) and currently works for the Edmonton Public School Board at Velma E. Baker School as an Elementary Music Specialist. Leesila has completed a Vocal Jazz Residency at Stanford University. She is the past director of Sing ‘N Groove choir, piano teacher, and singer with Black Gospel group, Sounds of Soul and Vocal Jazz group, Postdated. She has extensive choral and solo experiences. Leesila released a vocal jazz album, Dreamer’s Lounge. Leesila’s active approach and passion for singing and teaching continue to inspire her students!
Grace has been the Choral Assistant and Accompanist for the Elk Island Junior Choir since 2009 and for the Tiny Trebles Choir since 2018. She holds ARCT certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in Piano Performance and has completed Grade 10 in violin, as well as her extensive training in Music Theory and History from the RCM. Grace graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences in 2004 and then went on to complete an After Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in Math in 2006. While studying, she played violin, celeste, and piano in the Edmonton Youth Orchestra (EYO) and the University of Alberta Symphony Orchestra (USO). Currently, she is a math teacher at Westminster Junior High. Outside the classroom, Grace has played as an orchestral member for musicals around Edmonton and Sherwood Park, including Titanic, Kiss Me Kate, City of Angels, Little Women, Company, A Little Night Music and Beauty and the Beast. She is also an orchestral member of the Edmonton Pops Orchestra (EPOP) and plays in a variety of musical productions throughout Edmonton and area.
